Welcome!

Welcome to our home on the Potomac River in Southern Maryland. There is usually something interesting going on here and we try to share the most interesting events, news, and photos on this site. Since our family is scattered across the continent, we hope we can take advantage of this site to pull us all closer together.

If you're part of our extended family or a close friend, please consider registering on the site. Registration will allow you to post your own news, events, and photos. You can restrict your postings to our registered members or make them available to the public - whatever you like. Registration will also give you access to other stuff that is of little interest to the public.

If this is your first visit or you just have some really nice things to say about this site, please leave a note in the guest book. If you have any questions or suggestions, please use the contact links on the main menu or send an email to Lee or Chris. Thanks for visiting.

IT'S TIME TO STOP AMERICA'S ADDICTION TO FOREIGN OIL

America is in a hole and it's getting deeper every day. We import 70% of our oil at a cost of $700 billion a year - four times the annual cost of the Iraq war.
I've been an oil man all my life, but this is one emergency we can't drill our way out of. But if we create a new renewable energy network, we can break our addiction to foreign oil.
On January 20, 2009, a new President gets sworn in. If we're organized, we can convince Congress to make major changes towards cleaner, cheaper and domestic energy resources.

To get this done, I need your help. Check out the plan. If you think it's worth fighting for, please join our effort.

Dani Celebrates 19th Birthday

Dani celebrated her 19th Birthday on Sunday, May 4th. The day included a visit to the Washington Zoo with her boyfriend Drew and good friend Rachel. After leaving the zoo they went shopping (of course) and lucked onto some lovely blue dresses at one of their favorite bargain stores. Deciding they would make perfect birthday regalia they snapped those treasures up and modeled them for us when they got home. After the modeling session, we all sat down to her requested birthday dinner of homemade Vietnamese Garden Rolls, shish kabob, and angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream.

Potomac Tides Takes a Pounding

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

A combination of abnormally high tide and sustained 40 mph winds pounded Potomac Tides throughout the afternoon and evening on Saturday. The lattice work supportting Ralph and Alice's nest was ripped away along with some deck planks on the dock. A couple of large timbers that hold the sea wall in place were also snapped by the power of the surging waves. We have a bit of repair work to do.
